1. Om Shaanti Om




Om Shanti Om is a 2007 Bollywood romantic drama film in the Hindi language that was written and directed by Farah Khan and produced by Gauri Khan under the auspices of Red Chillies Entertainment. Shah Rukh Khan plays Om Makhija, a struggling junior movie artist in 1977, who falls in love with Shanti Kashyap, a film actress who is secretly married and is played by debutante Deepika Padukone


The story spans three decades. Arjun Rampal plays Mukesh Mehra, the woman's husband and a producer of movies, who betrays her and kills her in a fire. Om sees this and tries to save her, but is seriously hurt, leading to his death. In 2007, after having a second chance at life as the wealthy superstar Om Kapoor, he decided to exact revenge on Mukesh with the aid of Shanti's identical twin Sandy Bansal. 


Deepika Padukone was lauded for her impressive performance, which won her Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Om Shanti Om is also considered one of the best Deepika Padukone movies. The film was a massive success at the box office, earning INR 149 crores against a budget of INR 35 crores. It was also the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time at its release. 



2. Bachna Ae Haseeno




Ranbir Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone, and Minissha Lamba play the key characters in Siddharth Anand's 2008 Hindi-language romantic comedy Bachna Ae Haseeno. The movie is produced by Yash Raj Films.


Raj Sharma, a young playboy who encounters three young women at various points in his life and learns valuable lessons about love along the way, is the central character in Bachna Ae Haseeno. The story begins in 2008, and from then, a sequence of flashbacks shows how he has changed his perspective on life.


Although the critics liked the movie in general, most people praised Ranbir, Bipasha and Deepika's performance and called it one of the best performances of Bipasha Basu's career. Bipasha also won the Best Supporting Actress Award at the 54th Filmfare Awards. The film was a success at the box office as it earned INR 62 crores on a budget of INR 23 crores. 



3. Love Aaj Kal




Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone lead in Imtiaz Ali's 2009 rom-com Love Aaj Kal, which also features Rishi Kapoor and Giselli Monteiro in supporting parts. Imtiaz Ali is the director, and Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan are the producers. Although the view of realising one's soulmate has evolved with time, the movie depicts the emotion of unadulterated love, which never changes. The film was a major hit at the box office, earning close to INR 120 crores against a budget of INR 35 crores.



4. Housefull




In 2010, Sajid Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala released the comedy-drama film Housefull. The film is partially based on the 1998 Tamil play Kaathala Kaathala. It is the first instalment of the Housefull series. The movie stars Jiah Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal, and Akshay Kumar. Rohit Dhawan, the son of director David Dhawan, made his directorial debut with the 2011 Indian romantic comedy Desi Boyz. Sanjay Dutt has a cameo appearance in the movie, which also stars Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, and Chitrangada Singh in pivotal roles. Homi Adajania and Imtiaz Ali's romantic comedy-drama Cocktail was released in 2012 in the Hindi language. Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan, together with Illuminati Films, Maddock Films, and Eros International, produced it. Along with Dimple Kapadia, Boman Irani, and Randeep Hooda playing supporting roles, the movie stars Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty in pivotal roles.

7. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani




Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, popularly known as YJHD, is a 2013 coming-of-age rom-com film that was produced by Karan Johar, directed by Ayan Mukerji, and written by Ayan Mukerji and Hussain Dalal. Along with Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur playing crucial supporting roles, it has Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles. The plot centres on Naina Talwar and Kabir Thapar, who meet while hiking. Naina develops feelings for Kabir but keeps them to herself. They quickly grow apart but eventually reconnect at a friend's wedding.

8. Chennai Express




Based on a K. Subash story with a screenplay by Yunus Sajawal and dialogue by Farhad-Sajid, Chennai Express is a 2013 Hindi-language action comedy film directed by Rohit Shetty, produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Gauri Khan, and Karim Morani. Shah Rukh Khan plays Rahul Mithaiwala in the movie, a man who unintentionally boards the titular train and travels from Mumbai to Rameswaram with Deepika Padukone's character Meenamma, the don's daughter from the neighbourhood. 


Chennai Express turned out to be a blockbuster hit, earning close to INR 420 crores on a budget of INR 70 crores, making it one of the most successful Deepika Padukone movies of all time.



9. Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela




Sanjay Leela Bhansali wrote, produced, and directed the 2013 Hindi-language tragedy romance action movie Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. He also provided the soundtrack. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh star in the film, which Bhansali and Kishore Lulla of Eros International co-produced. Supriya Pathak, Richa Chadda, Sharad Kelkar, Gulshan Devaiah, Barkha Bisht Sengupta, and Abhimanyu Singh make up the supporting cast.


Based on William Shakespeare's tragedy Romeo and Juliet, Ram-Leela tells the story of the star-crossed love between the two titular lovers, who are members of opposing groups yet fall in love with one another.


 Ram-Leela was nominated for eight Filmfare Awards and won three, including the Best Actress Filmfare Award for  Deepika Padukone and the Best Supporting Filmfare Award for Supriya Pathak. It was nominated for nine International Indian Film Academy Awards, including Best Film, and took home two. This movie turned out to be a turning point in Deepika's career as it cemented her place as Bollywood's leading lady and helped her meet her future husband, Ranveer Singh. It is reported that love blossomed between the power couple at the sets of Ram Leela, and the two haven't looked back ever since.



10. Happy New Year




In 2014, Farah Khan and Gauri Khan released the action comedy Happy New Year under the Red Chillies Entertainment label. Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani, Vivaan Shah, and Jackie Shroff are the movie's ensemble members.

Piku is a 2015 Hindi-language comedy-drama film produced by N. P. Singh, Ronnie Lahiri, and Sneha Rajani and directed by Shoojit Sircar. Amitabh Bachchan, Irrfan Khan, and Deepika Padukone all play significant roles, with Jisshu Sengupta and Moushumi Chatterjee playing the supporting ones.


Piku was made available on May 8, 2015. When it was released, it received a lot of favourable reviews. The critics lauded the script, performances, humour, and general simplicity. The performances of Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Irrfan Khan received particular accolades from the reviewers, and the movie established a new high point in each actor's career. 12. Tamasha




Tamasha is a 2015 Indian love drama film that Imtiaz Ali wrote, directed, and produced through his company, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are the stars. Irshad Kamil wrote the song lyrics, and A. R. Rahman created the soundtrack album and the movie's score.


In a dramatic narrative, the movie narrates the story of Ved Vardhan Sahni in three phases: as a 9-year-old child, a 19-year-old teenager, and a 30-year-old adult.

14. Padmaavat




Sanjay Leela Bhansali is the director of the 2018 Indian period romance action drama movie Padmaavat. Deepika Padukone portrays Rani Padmavati, a Rajput queen renowned for her beauty and the wife of Maharawal Ratan Singh, played by Shahid Kapoor, in this epic poem adaptation. After learning about her attractiveness, Ranveer Singh's Sultan Alauddin Khilji invades her kingdom to make her his slave. 15. Chhapaak




The 2020 Hindi-language biopic Chhapaak is based on the real-life story of Laxmi Agarwal, a victim of an acid attack. Along with Vikrant Massey and Madhurjeet Sarghi, Deepika Padukone plays the lead part of a heroine in the Meghna Gulzar-directed movie who was inspired by Agarwal. Two years after Padmaavat's release, it was Padukone's acting comeback and debut as a producer. Fox Star Studios, Ka Productions, Avernus Productions, and Mriga Films provided shared financial support for the movie. Deepika Padukone received a lot of accolades for portraying an acid attack survivor, despite the film's lack of commercial success.
