1. Pentatonix

Pentatonix needs no introduction. This a capella band has been the sound of Christmas this past decade and their amazing vocals are a testament to that. Although they are primarily not a Christmas band, Pentatonix gained worldwide recognition for their Christmas songs that have been played on the radio throughout the Christmas season. Their unique voice and an eye for the perfect pitch make them one of the best Christmas bands of the 2010s. Pentatonix has also won three Grammy Awards in the years 2015, 2016 and 2017.

2. Mannheim Steamroller

Founded by percussionist/composer Chip Davis, the American new-age Christmas band Mannheim Steamroller is best known for its 'Fresh Aire' series of CDs, which combine classical music with new-age and rock influences, and for its contemporary Christmas music records. Their albums 'Christmas in the Aire' and 'Mannheim Steamroller Christmas' cemented their place in the top ten Christmas bands of all time.

3. The Wizards of Winter

The Wizards of Winter is a trio of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut natives who play progressive rock holiday music under the banner of Breaking Bands, LLC. They are a diverse mix of artists, and both classical music and progressive rock have had a significant impact on their work. Tales Beneath a Northern Star, the band's original holiday rock opera, was released in 2011 which helped them propel their career as a Christmas band. In 2014, The Wizards of Winter released a self-titled, Christmas rock opera album. Their second album, The Magic of Winter, which was published in 2015, has the song 'The Spirit of Christmas,' which was featured on Yahoo Music. Rock cover artist Ioannis created the artwork for both albums.

4. Casting Crowns

Casting Crowns is a new-age Christian rock band started by pastor Mark Hall in the year 1999. Casting Crowns specialises in Christian Rock and Holiday music, making them one of the leading Christmas bands of this century. Their unique sound and the ability to mesmerize people with their soothing music helped them become one of the very few American Christian bands to perform in North Korea. 5. MercyMe

MercyMe is yet another Christian band that deserves all the love and affection in the world! They are the underdogs of the modern Christmas bands and their album, 'The Christmas Sessions' was a chart-topping album, with one song hitting the number one spot and two others coming in the top ten of the Christian Songs Chart. 

6. For King & Country

For King & Country, also known as for KING & COUNTRY, is an Australian Christian pop band that started its journey in the year 2007. They released a featured Christmas album titled 'A Drummer Boy' in the year 2020 which has helped them gain popularity as one of the most exciting Christmas bands of the modern era. For King & Country was also described as "Australia's answer to Coldplay" by American Songwriter which gives us a fair idea of the potential they hold.

7. Third Day

Third Day was one of the most prominent Christian bands of their time. Founded in the year 1991, Third Day was one of the most popular bands to come out of Georgia, US. They were also inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame for their exemplary contribution to Christian music. Third Day released their Christmas-themed album titled 'Christmas Offerings' in 2006 which was a turning point in their career as it helped them become one of the most popular Christmas bands of this generation. Third Day decided to perform for one last time as a band in 2018 when they announced their farewell tour. The band last performed together on 27 June 2018.
