Rahul Dev Burman was an Indian music director and actor. He was born on June 27, 1939, and passed away on January 4, 1994. Rahul Dev Burman is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most successful music directors in the history of the Hindi Music Industry. Burman brought a new level of music ensemble with his works, which he contributed to 331 films that he scored musically throughout the decades of the 1960s and the 1990s. Burman collaborated extensively with renowned singers such as Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, and Kishore Kumar for most of his career. He was the only child of composer Sachin Dev Burman and Bengali singer-lyricist Meera Dev Burman. His nickname was Pancham, and he was his only son.
