Avatar: The Way of Water is one of the most awaited movies this year. James Cameron's Avatar (2009) was a ground-breaking achievement that inspired a lot of filmmakers, let it be national or international. It has been 13 years since Avatar took the world by storm. James Cameron is one of the few talented directors whose enthusiasm shines through in their work. Cameron waited for the sequel to his masterwork because he wanted his work to look and feel as real to his audience as possible.

Even though Avatar: The Way of Water is currently on everyone's lips throughout the world, there are other James Cameron movies that should not be forgotten. Here is a collection of James Cameron movies that have become timeless classics.

The Terminator:

Before The Terminator (1984), James Cameron worked on a variety of projects, but it was this that launched him into the international spotlight. Cameron not only directed the film, but he also wrote the script. It was a smash hit and is still regarded as one of the franchise's greatest. It also helped Arnold Schwarzenegger establish himself as a well-known actor in the Hollywood film industry.

Rambo: First Blood Part II:

James Cameron, along with Sylvester Stallone wrote the story of the movie. The film was released in theatres in 1985. Rambo: First Blood Part II was a semi-hit, but it earned positive reviews from reviewers and is now considered one of the most acclaimed action films of all time. Along with Sylvester Stallone, the film featured Martin Kove, who is best known for his negative role as John Kreese in the classic movie The Karate Kid and is still working and entertaining fans in the web series Cobra Kai.

Aliens:

Aliens has one of the most devoted followings out of any James Cameron film. Cameron wrote as well as directed the film. The sci-fi/action film was the franchise's second instalment. Aliens had a simple plot, but the way it was handled left a lasting impression on its viewers. It was regarded as one of Sigourney Weaver's best performances as the lead character Ellen Ripley.

Terminator 2: Judgement Day:

After Terminator, James Cameron returned with a blast, bringing one of the best sequels ever. Cameron produced the film in addition to scripting and directing it. Terminator 2 was the highest-grossing picture in the world in 1991. Arnold Schwarzenegger stated one of the most iconic lines in the original film, I'll be back, and he came back with a roar in this sequel. James Cameron's Terminator 2 is still regarded as the best one in the franchise.

Titanic:

Titanic, a romance/drama by James Cameron, was released in 1997. It was a story of two lovers from diverse social classes and backgrounds who met and fell in love but were unable to prevent their journey from collapsing. The film was inspired by the true story of a ship of the same name that was involved in a terrible disaster. Titanic starred Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Kathy Bates, and Billy Zane, among others. Titanic won numerous Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Visual Effects, and Best Original Score. James Cameron was named Best Director at the Academy Awards.

Avatar:

Avatar was more than just a film; it was James Cameron's vision that transformed the global film industry. In 2009, Cameron arrived with a tale about a handicapped soldier. With its diverse theme, it was really about conquerors and their potential to change an entire culture. Avatar was an experience like no other, with such thorough and compelling material and a magnificent look at a new and unknown world. James Cameron was named Best Director at the Academy Awards again, and Avatar won the Oscar for Best Picture in 2010.

James Cameron movies that didn't make the list but deserve to be listed are Piranha 2, The Abyss, True Lies, Ghosts of the Abyss, and Alita: Battle Angel.

Avatar: The Way of Water is now closer than ever. After 13 years of anticipation, we will finally be able to witness the vision that has been cooking in James Cameron's brilliant mind.
