Anushka Sharma Wraps Up The Shooting Of Chakda Xpress

Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma took to Instagram on Monday to share the news that she and her team have wrapped up the shooting of her upcoming film titled 'Chakda Xpress'.  Former Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami, on whose life the film is based, was also present for the wrap of the shoot. She was the one who gave the 'final clap' for the shoot.

Anushka Sharma also shared photos of her, Jhulan Goswami and director Prosit Roy cutting a three-tier cake. Among other photos shared by the actor, there was one where she was presumably lying in an ambulance with Jhulan by her side holding a clapper board. Anushka Sharma also shared a photo of the three-tier cake which mentioned the number of days it took for the filming of the movie 'Chakda Xpress'.

Chakda Xpress Shooting Location

Chakda Xpress took 65 days or 2 months and four days to complete which spanned over a period of six months from June 2022 to December 2022. The filming was divided into seven schedules and was shot in six different cities which include Kolkata, Chakda and Mumbai, among others.

Anushka Sharma will be seen dawning the role of the former Indian cricket captain, Jhulan Goswami. Speaking about the film, Anushka Sharma shared on her Instagram post, "It is a really special film because it is essentially a story of tremendous sacrifice. Chakda Xpress is inspired by the life and times of former Indian captain Jhulan Goswami and it will be an eye-opener into the world of women’s cricket. At a time when Jhulan decided to become a cricketer and make her country proud on the global stage, it was very tough for women to even think of playing the sport. This film is a dramatic retelling of several instances that shaped her life and also women’s cricket. (sic)"

Chakda Xpress Overview

Chakda Xpress is a biopic on the life of former Indian captain Jhulan Goswami. Directed by Prosit Roy, the film stars Anushka Sharma in the lead role of Jhulan along with Atul Sharma, Manoj Anand and Hamz Butt, among others in supporting roles. Chakda Xpress is written by Abhishek Banerjee and is produced by Harish Iyer, Saurabh Malhotra and Karnesh Ssharma under the banner of Clean Slate Filmz. 

Anushka Sharma's Upcoming Films

On the work front, Anushka Sharma has been busy as a producer wherein she has produced films and series like Paatal Lok, Bulbbul, Mai and Qala under her production house Clean Slate Filmz. She was recently seen in a cameo role in the movie 'Qala'. Her last film in a lead role was in the movie 'Zero', where she played the role of Aafia Yusufzai Bhinder. Anushka Sharma's upcoming film is 'Chakda Xpress', which is rumoured to release in the first quarter of 2023. It will have a direct-to-OTT release on Netflix.
